A new lease of life

Towards sustainable fashion

Responsibility is nothing new for the marabouée fairy. Since its inception, the brand has put this notion into practice at different levels, by favouring made-in-Europe products and through partnerships with associations.
To take this approach a step further and breathe new life into it, in 2020 we created a dedicated range that makes it easy to identify items made from materials that are the most respectful of the environment and people.
At least 30% of their fibres come from natural plant sources, natural animal sources, more responsible artificial sources or certified sources.

The materials

ORGANIC COTTON

Grown without chemicals, organic cotton uses 98% less water and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 94%.
This ensures minimal impact on the environment.

RECYCLED MATERIALS

The aim of using recycled materials is to minimise our environmental footprint while preserving our resources.
Recycled materials can be natural (cotton, wool) or synthetic (polyester, polyamide and acrylic).

NATURAL PLANT MATERIALS

Hemp, flax and ramie are natural plant materials with a reduced environmental impact.
These are biodegradable, environmentally-friendly fibres that require little irrigation or chemical inputs to grow.

Certifications

ORGANIC CERTIFICATIONS

At La Fée Maraboutée, our products can be certified to 2 different organic standards: GOTS (Organic Content Standard) and OCS (Global Organic Textile).
GOTS, the most demanding, guarantees that our products contain at least 95% organic cotton and are produced in strict compliance with social and environmental criteria. La fée maraboutée has been GOTS certified since January 2022, Ecocert Greenlife licence n°252903.
OCS certification certifies that the cotton used is grown without harmful substances, using sustainable farming practices that conserve water and biodiversity.

RECYCLED CERTIFICATIONS

RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) certification ensures that our products are made with a minimum of 5% recycled content. At La Fée Maraboutée, we have set ourselves a minimum of 30%. This certification guarantees the traceability of recycled materials and supports transparent practices throughout the supply chain.

CO-BRANDED CERTIFICATIONS

The Lenzing® Group certifies that the cellulose fibres used in its materials come from sustainably managed forests and are FSC or PEFC certified. What's more, the manufacturing process respects the environment by using a non-toxic solvent that is 99.77% recycled.
In addition, LWG (Leather Working Group) guarantees that our leathers meet rigorous standards in terms of social, environmental and animal welfare practices. As they come from the food industry, they help to reduce waste and promote a healthier environment.
