New life
Towards sustainable fashion
Responsibility is nothing new for the marabout fairy. Since its creation, the brand has brought this notion to life at different levels, favoring made-in Europe or through associative partnerships.
To go further in this approach and give it “a new lease of life”, in 2020 we created a dedicated range which makes it easy to identify pieces made from the most respectful materials for the environment and people.
Thus, at least 30% of their fibers come from natural plant, natural animal, more responsible artificial or even certified origin.
The subjects
ORGANIC COTTON
Grown without chemicals, organic cotton consumes 98% less water and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 94%.
It thus guarantees minimal impact on the environment.
RECYCLED MATERIALS
The aim of using recycled materials is to reduce the environmental footprint as much as possible while preserving our resources.
Recycled materials can be natural (cotton, wool) or synthetic (polyester, polyamide and acrylic).
NATURAL PLANT MATERIALS
Hemp, linen and ramie are natural plant materials with a reduced environmental impact.
These are biodegradable and ecological fibers whose cultivation requires little irrigation and chemical inputs.
Certifications
ORGANIC CERTIFICATIONS
At la fée maraboutée, our pieces can have 2 types of organic certifications: GOTS (Organic Content Standard) and OCS (Global Organic Textile).
GOTS, the most demanding, guarantees that our pieces contain at least 95% organic cotton and are produced in strict compliance with social and environmental criteria. The marabout fairy has been GOTS certified since January 2022, Ecocert Greenlife license n°252903.
OCS certification certifies that the cotton used is grown without harmful substances, promoting sustainable agricultural practices that preserve water and biodiversity.
RECYCLED CERTIFICATIONS
RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) certification ensures that parts are manufactured with a minimum of 5% recycled materials. At la fée maraboutée, we have set ourselves a minimum of 30%. This certification ensures the traceability of recycled materials and supports transparent practices throughout the supply chain.
CO-BRANDED CERTIFICATIONS
The Lenzing® group certifies that the cellulosic fibers in its materials come from sustainably managed and FSC or PEFC certified forests. In addition, the manufacturing process respects the environment thanks to the use of a non-toxic solvent, 99.77% recycled.
Furthermore, LWG (Leather Working Group) guarantees that our leathers meet rigorous standards in terms of social, environmental and animal welfare practices. Coming from the food industry, they help reduce waste and promote a healthier environment.
