Acqua Alta is about the rising waters of Venice and the city's palaces reflected in them.
In particular, the incredible Palazzo Fortuny, home to an unrivalled collection of textiles by Mariano Fortuny, a multi-talented artist, designer and engineer who was a traveler and collector of fabrics, garments and other treasures. We owe him fine silk pleats and printed velvets, the techniques of which have been kept secret to this day.
They inspire us with motifs between East and West, a modernized Baroque. We see them through the 70's filter, very "puccisant", dear to the stars of the time, such as Andy Warhol or Peggy Guggenheim, and taken up again today by designers. The range is that of the lagoon: aquatic greens, nocturnal blues but also and the hushed reds of the Palaces and the flashy pinks of the stars!!
