Discover a range of ceramic pieces made in France in the Loire, whose colors are inspired by our collection, through an exclusive collaboration with the ceramist Magaly Rollet.
Magaly works "on the plate" which consists of spreading the earth and she does not use a pottery wheel. The earth is then placed in a mold and will thus dry, on average this phase lasts 48 hours. The drying should not be too fast so that the earth does not crack. The modeling obtained is sanded to obtain a regular result. The stoneware is baked at 1050 degrees for 48 hours, this is called “biscuit” baking: the earth is not colored when it comes out of the oven.
Then comes a coloring phase with the use of powdered oxides which are mixed with a gel which is sprayed. After drying, a “cover” is applied, creating a sort of white powder that gives a shiny appearance after cooking, making the pieces completely suitable for food use.
A second firing at 1020 degrees takes place, for 48 hours. It is at this stage that we will obtain the final rendering of the color, which will vary according to the cooking. For example, red is one of the colors that can easily change during cooking. These pieces are available in color ranges of blues, greens, reds and oranges.
